Welcome to the Media Center

Welcome back to school and back to my favorite place in our school the Media Center.  I hope each of you did a lot of reading for fun this summer.  I know I did!!  But it is now time to start back to studing, so we won't have as much time for pleasure reading.  With our homework calendar, we should be able to have some time to read for fun.  We will begin checking out books in just a few days then we can let the fun begin.

Information for Parents

Did you know that research has shown that one of the best ways to raise a reader is to allow the child to read whatever they want to.  Reading magazines or comic books or newspaper or cereal boxes increases word recognition and helps with comprehension.  Please let your child read about things they are interested in whether it is considered "educational" or not remember that the more you read the better reader you will become.
